What is the MTU ISO Password?
Michigan Tech is deploying a new Initial Sign-On (ISO) Password that is, simply, a password
to give you access to applications requiring it. It should not be set to the
same password used to log into a computer in a computer lab or office.

The long term goal is to further consolidate
passwords to reduce the number of passwords that must be remembered by
individuals as well as to increase the security of our systems.

Why do I keep getting redirected to the login page after logging in successfully?
This can occur for a couple of reasons:
- You have cookies disabled in your web browser. For Web Single Signon to work you MUST accept cookies in your web browser.
- Your web requests are being routed through a web proxy that is modifying your source IP address. You will have to check this with your own ISP.

What does "Could not connect to the Directory Server(s)" mean?
This error message indicates a problem with the service that stores your Campus Password. Please
send a message to directory@mtu.edu if this message
persists, or try again at a later time.

What does "Internal/Unknown Error!" mean?
This message indicates a serious problem. Please send a message to
directory@mtu.edu if this message
persists, or try again at a later time.

What does "The two passwords must match!" mean?
This means you have mistyped one of the passwords in either the "New Password"
text box or the "Confirm New Password" text box. The password in these two
text boxes MUST be the same. Please type your new password in both boxes
again.

What does "Your password must..." mean?
This message indicates you have violated one of the criteria for MTU ISO
Passwords. Please read MTU ISO
Password Criteria document.

What does "Old password incorrect!" mean?
This means you have mistyped your old password when attempting to change your
password. If you do not know your old password, please see your system
administrator to have it reset.

What does "Login ID was not found!" mean?
This means your login ID does not exist in the directory server. Please
see your system administrator if you receive this message.
